This is the latest HIGHLY RECOMMENDED devotional resource that I am adding to the review of these resources that is posted two weeks ao and available by clickign here. Deb Turnow, spiritual director at LWCC told me about it.
This resource is incredible.
It is a year long devotional using selected TEXTS from The Message. Each devotional is two pages. On the left hand side is the biblical text (Message version) and on the right page are guided thoughts organized around the Lectio Divina method of:
Read
Think
Pray
Live
This devotional will be an excellent choice for several reasons.
One, it will take you through over 300 biblical texts covering Genesis through Revelation. So you will be immersed in the Bible
Two, it will use the Message translation and so, give you a fresh reading of the biblical text. I recommend that you read the Message text first and then do a second reading in your usual translation.
Third, it will help you move past an information orientation to a heart engagement with God's Word
Four, there is plenty of room on each page for you to jot down thoughts and notes as you encounter God. Why this will be good is that it is a nice way to get involved in journaling or "logging" your journey.
If anyone starts to use this, give me some feedback on how it is workign for you after about a month of using it.
