I guess to some degree, authentic blogging has significant elements of spiritual autobiography in it. So, with that said, here are some prayers that I jotted down in my journal yesterday. May they be as moving for you as they were for me. Better yet, may you not need them at all, but if you do, may they be helpful.
Father, I want to know Thee
but my coward heart fears to give up its toys.
I cannot part with them without inward bleeding
and I do not try to hide from Thee, the terrors of the parting.
I come trembling, but I do come.
Please root from my heart
all those things which I have cherished so long
and which have become a very part of my living self,
so Thou mayest enter and dwell there without a rival.

Make me ambitious to please Thee
even if as a result
I must sink into obscurity
and my name be forgotten as a dream.

Lord, take away any illusions I may have of becoming great and famous, since you are all those things, and you alone. John Piper, Desiring God

O God
I know that if I do not love Thee
with all my heart, with all my mind, with all my soul and with all my strength
I shall love something else with all my heart and mind, soul and strength.
Grant that putting Thee first in all my lovings
I may be liberated from all lesser loves and loyalties
and love Thee as my first love, my chiefest good and my final joy.
