Here is an AWESOME video for several reasons.
First, it is a great way to launch this week of Christmas. The video lasts for six minutes and it is worth every second.
Second, it is a video about Handel's Messiah. I am just about finished reading a wonderful book on Handel's Messiah. I try to listen the Messiah every Christmas season, and I have been listening to it again, going through Calvin Stapert's, Handel's Messiah: Comfort for God's People. This is spiritual formation for your soul.
Third, it is a great example of how we are called to engage our world in culturally creative, uplifting, redemptive ways. Imagine how the unsuspecting crowd is suddenly treated to an incredible experience.
Fourth, it is a powerful example of leadership and the power of vision and just think about all the work needed to pull this off.
Fifth, it helps us see that performance and worship are not necessarily mutually exclusive things as so many evangelicals are prone to believe with our constant dualistic approach to live.
So, many cheers and thanks for all the work on this.
Please pass it on to others via your Facebook or blogsite.
