It's Source May be a
Lot Nearer Than You Think
Occasionally I read and reflect on the thoughts Henri-Frederic Amiel records in his Fragments of an Intimate Journal. Here is one I'll pass along to you for today. Amiel says:
"We are never more discontented with others than when we are discontented with ourselves."
The unhappy person will always be unhappy when it comes to others. Our own internal "dis-ease" makes us critical, skeptical, suspicious, irritable and judgmental toward others. When we are discontent, it is much easier to focus on the problems in others than on the unhappiness within us.
So . . . if you are feeling discontent with others these days . . . it may be worth a careful, prayerful look within. What is bothering you, about you?
