Adaptive enemies is a term used to refer to terrorists who constantly adapt in response to the latest counter-terrorist measures (The Age of the Unthinkable)
That got me thinking . . .
It seems to me that Satan is an adaptive enemy.
And so is my sin nature.
I may as well add in the fallen world system.
Just when I think I have my counter-Satan, counter-sin, counter-world measurers in place, I find out they have adapted and already have new ways to disorder my life and leadership.
Sigh . . .
I suppose this is one reason why the Bible tells us to be constantly vigilant and alert about Satan, to constantly fight the good fight of resisting sin (and denying the sinful self's desires), and to daily flee the "evil" that is in the world (note - not flee the world itself, for that is impossible and unChristian).
May we all be vigiliant, resisting and abstaining from all that is wrong.
